I qualified as an Amatsu practitioner in 2004 and I been running a successful & thriving private practice since. I now run a clinic in Dun Laoghaire, which is very central and easily accessable by dart and bus. For those who may have difficulty travelling, I also operate a mobile treatment service for clients in the South Dublin & Wicklow area. I am a Master Practitioner and an AAI-accredited teacher of Amatsu. I work with Christine Duffy in the Amatsu Institute of Natural Health. I am a member of the Amatsu Association of Ireland and I have sat on the committee of the Association for many years. I have practised Kung Fu and Tai Chi since 1996. I am also a Kung Fu instructor. I have seen and treated many different types of injuries and physical problems from back pain, sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, digestive problems, broken bones and headaches. I also treat pregnant women and newborn babies, infants, young children and the elderly. Amatsu is a gentle realignment of the body and so is suitable for a wide range of people and difficulties. Testimonial from C. Prestage: After several years of trouble with my hip and exhausting the conventional route, it was decided that a hip replacement was the only solution. I had never heard of Amatsu before but decided to give it a try on a recommendation, and found that even after one session things started to improve dramatically. After my second session I was so impressed with the results, I decided to cancel my hip replacement. It is fantastic to be pain free and enjoy life again. Even the simple things like tying my shoe laces used to cause me agony and that is now a thing of the past. Not only has there been a dramatic improvement in my hip but my health in general has improved. I highly recommend Andy Doyle. I’d like to thank him for his dedication, empathy and the informative manner in which he has dealt with me.

In my previous career I started out as a programmer and systems analyst in the computer industry and was head-hunted to work for an Investment Bank where I worked mostly as a business analyst. Solving problems, refining solutions and seeing patterns it seems has always been my thing.

I have always been interested in movement therapies, which I see as a logical progression of my interest in Yoga. I have sought out the best teachers available in whatever discipline I study. That is why I wanted to study Amatsu with Paul Hand.

My specific interest in Amatsu was sparked by my experience of having Amatsu treatment for a persistent hip problem. My treatment was both non-invasive and highly effective. After researching more about Amatsu, I decided to train as an Amatsu therapist.

I was very fortunate to be put in touch with Paul Hand, who runs the Yorkshire Amatsu School in the UK. Paul accepted me as a student in 2013 and I began to travel to Doncaster to train with him on a regular basis.

I continue to study with Paul in what I see as a lifelong study of Amatsu. I also attend workshops in Feldenkrais method on a regular basis. I am a member of the Register of Physical therapists Ireland, therefor my Amatsu clients can claim for their treatments through major health insurers.

I first met with William Doolan, Principal Teacher, Amatsu Association Ireland in 1993. William helped me recover from a long standing calf / achilles injury that had troubled me for some time. I became fascinated with Amatsu and was invited to a training evening.

From 1993 – present, i have qualified in Amatsu ( ANMA, SEITAI, SHINDEN JUTSU AND KENKU 1) under the guidance of William Doolan and Dennis Bartram. As a member of the Amatsu Association Of Ireland, i am required to undergo continous training ( CPD) workshops each year.

In 2001 i qualified as a Physical Therapist, having studied at the National Training Centre, Dublin. In 2001 i established a full-time clinic in the heart of Dublins’ northside, in Glasnevin and since that time ive seen steady growth in clients presenting for treatment, as more and more people experience the benefits of Amatsu. My clinic offers an integrated treatment philosophy, based on a total body architectural approach.

I work with adults and children trying to maintain BALANCE and alleviate PAIN. My interest lies in identifying the causative factors behind injury occurrence. This enables me to apply corrective actions needed to return you to full health. I feel both proud and fortunate to have been so lucky to have found Amatsu. I am confident in my ability to provide exceptional client care. It gives me so much pleasure to see the results Amatsu can bring, thus giving people a greater quality of life. Whether you have hurt yourself at HOME, at WORK or at SPORT, i will help you recover FASTER and minimise you chance of re-injury.

I have been practising Amatsu since 2004. I have also completed advanced studies in organ balancing and the cranio-sacral system. I am a qualified Amatsu Practitioner Teacher and continue to update my training on a regular basis. .

I have trained with the top Amatsu teachers – Denis Bartram and William Doolan and I have completed numerous CPD courses run by some of the top proponents in their respective fields such as Dr Steven Levin (Biotensegrity), Tom Meyers (Anatomy Trains) and Master Hwa Shin (Tibetan Healing Meditation).

Curious by nature I am always seeking to discover new techniques and ideas and constantly strive to further my own knowledge to enhance my treatments for the benefit of my clients/students.

As well as private consultations I am also available to give talks and to provide group and private CPD training.

Testimonial Mrs A O’Reilly, Lucan: I have Cerebral Palsy and I am mildly paralysed on my left side and in particular my left hand. Since I started Amatsu with John I have noticed a big improvement in my posture and how I use my left hand. Before I started treatment with John I was able to train my left hand to do certain things but I had to consciously move it. After going for a few treatments with John my left hand started to get stronger and lately I am starting to use it automatically to do things such as picking things up, turning on taps etc. I have also noticed that my left arm has become a lot straighter. This is an amazing result because I could never do this before. I have had physiotherapy but never got results like that. The treatment has helped me with weight loss and my general health has also improved since I started seeing John for Amatsu, I feel stronger and I am more positive and able to cope much better with stress. I would highly recommend John and his Amatsu treatments.

Having suffered an horrific back injury in 1995 I found AMATSU to be the most effective treatment for my problem which healed with incredible speed. After years of referring friends and colleagues, and occasional returns to the clinic with my own health issues, I decided to study this amazing therapy for myself and have been practising since 2006.

I am a member of the Register of Physical Therapists Ireland (RPTI) which means you can claim for my treatments through VHI & all major health insurers.

An Amatsu treatment (known as a ‘Balance’) involves the gentle toning of ligaments and tissue to release tension and strain patterns, and correct imbalances caused by strain, injury, prolonged bad posture & lifestyle. Because Amatsu addresses your body as a WHOLE tensegrous system (not a bunch of PARTS), and involves a combination of techniques from massage to acupressure and cranio-sacral balancing it is generally found to be a highly effective treatment for countless ailments.
I am qualified in Anma, Seitai and Shinden Jutsu levels. Also certified in Traditional Healing Massage and Body Harmony.

I have being practicing Amatsu since 2002 and have also studied massage therapy & kinesiology, dealing with people from sports and postural injuries, back pain, IBS, sciatica, sprained joints and much more.

Amatsu is a gentle, corrective treatment which gently aligns and rebalances the body’s structures; maintaining good health for everyone, including children and elderly. It treats the underlying causes of the problem and not just the symptoms. When the body is balanced healing can occur at an accelerated rate
